This page is being updated regularly to keep up with new guidance from the Scottish Government.
New travel restrictions from 20 November
Further to the First Minister’s announcement on 17 November, North Ayrshire Council area remains in Tier 3, and subsequently, our gymnastics programme and fitness suite continues to operate.
Other local authorities, including some that border North Ayrshire, have increased to tier protection level four, this includes Renfrewshire, East and South Ayrshire but not the Inverclyde Council area, which remains a tier three local authority.
As per the Scottish Government guidance, highlighted below, travel from a Tier 4 into Tier 3 area is not permitted. As a result we are writing to all customers of the centre, including parents of gymnasts, to highlight the new implication of travel from tier four areas. Any child residing in a Tier 4 area will, unfortunately, not be able to participate within the programme for the duration of the heightened restrictions.
Travel from a tier 3 level local authority to another tier 3 level local authority remains permitted for under 18s taking part in sport and as such children from Inverclyde Council area are not affected.
If you are affected by these changes please contact the centre by email before 12noon on the 25 November to email@example.com and we will arrange for your direct debit not to be taken for December and discuss next steps. Please provide your child's name, date of birth and class when doing so.
Our fitness suite and outdoor bootcamp classes continue to operate.
Travel restrictions associated with tier 3 areas and above come into effect at 1800 hrs on Friday 20 November. As a result we are writing to all customers of the centre, to highlight the impact, which would prevent any fitness members who reside out with of the North Ayrshire Council area from utilising the fitness suite for the duration of restrictions.
Freezing your membership
We know that a number of our members who travel from out with North Ayrshire will be affected by this change and we would like to once again highlight our membership freeze option that you can take advantage of. Taking this option means you would pause your membership for the month of December and we would not take your next direct debit payment. In order to do this you must let us know in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org before 12noon on Wednesday 25 November.
We appreciate your adherence to this, it should be noted that the travel restrictions associated with the guidance, become law at the time the tier changes come into effect at 18.00 hrs this Friday, 20th November.
