Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Our Schools and Education programmes offer a wide range of sports and fun activities for young people to get involved in. Thanks to our mixture of high quality facilities we are able to offer activities including; Gymnastics, Basketball, Hockey, Golf, Rugby, Tennis, Watersports and many more. We also offer an evening programme of leisure activities which could include relaxing activities such as movie nights or fun team building activities.

All of our sports coaches are qualified and experienced. They are specialists  in their sports with UKCC coaching qualifications. Every coach is a member of the PVG scheme, managed by Disclosure Scotland and has a First Aid qualification.

Your child’s school will have their own procedures regarding bringing mobile phones, MP3 players, DS’s or any other electrical equipment. However, it would be advisable to leave these at home. sportscotland do not accept liability for the loss or damage of any belongings and advise parents to be mindful if allowing children to bring any items of value.

All meals are included within the price of the Schools and Education package price. Young people will be given 3 meals per day, with plenty of healthy options to choose from and healthy snacks in the evening before bed. All catering is provided by our high quality catering company who we work closely with to develop a balanced menu.

During some of our off site days children will choose the contents of their own packed lunch from a selection of options.

If your child has any specialist dietary requirements or any allergies which you have not made us aware please inform your child’s teacher prior to their trip.

Along with their teachers and friends all children will have the full support of our coaching team and all of our friendly staff here on site. We advise parents to reassure young people that they will have an amazing time.  We have been welcoming school groups for many years and they always have a fantastic experience and rest assured we look out for every group that attends.

If your child is unwell their school teacher will look after them during the trip and you will be informed. Having already built up a relationship with your child they will be best placed to comfort and look after them.

Accidents occasionally happen, however stringent risk assessments have been undertaken for each activity and a trained First Aider will always be in attendance. We have well established links with local doctors, dentists and hospitals should the need arise. Full records of treatment are logged.

Parents/guardians are always alerted to an emergency, but are not normally contacted for small bumps and grazes. Details of any treatment administered will be given to your child’s teacher who will inform you in line with their schools procedures.

If your child has been unwell recently we advise that they should be clear of any symptoms for 24 hours before attending the trip.

If prior to arrival you know you will have to contact your child you should discuss this with their teacher to make contact arrangements.

If for any reason you need to contact your child and no previous arrangements have been made please call reception on 01475 674666.

Our accommodation block consists of 60 twin bedrooms; each room with two single beds with the capability to sleep a maximum of two individuals. Your child will be allocated their room prior to their arrival by their teacher. This will ensure that young people are more likely to be paired up with their close peers.

On the occasion that schools are bringing an uneven number in their group two rooms will be brought together to ensure no young person is sleeping alone. This is achieved by opening a dividing door between the two rooms allowing young people access to both rooms.

Under no circumstances would a young person be allocated a room where they would be isolated from their group.

If you have any concerns, regarding who your child is to be roomed with, these should be directed to their teacher prior to their visit.

Please contact reception on 01475 674666 and they will be able to check the lost property for you.
