Disability sport

The centre has benefited from a £14.5m investment and is the first UK residential sports centre of its kind – designed for inclusivity. This allows everyone, including athletes, spectators, and visitors, to be able to train and stay all under one roof. Many disability sports groups have utilised the centre for residential training across a range of sports, including performance squads at elite level.

Previous disability groups to visit the centre include:

  • Tennis Table Scotland - Parkinson's Event
  • World Wheelchair Curling champs 2025 host - accommodation venue

The centre

  • Access routes between accommodation, ancillary areas and the indoor sports facilities are completely seamless. 
  • Four extra-large lifts service all floors, and are designed to continue operating in emergency situations.

Accommodation

Inverclyde is uniquely placed to accommodate 120 wheelchair users at one time. Accommodation at Inverclyde extends beyond current DDA mobility access requirements. Our 60 twin bedrooms benefit from:

  • Extra floor space to accommodate two wheelchair users in each room
  • En-suite wet rooms
  • Six bedrooms with fixed hoists
  • Eight adjoining rooms

Fitness suite

Adapted/accessible fitness suite equipment includes:

  • 1x Concept 2 rower with wheelchair bumper
  • 2x SCI fit pro2 upper body, lower body, total body workout. (wheelchair accessible)
  • 1x Concept 2 ski erg
  • 1x Grappler
  • 1x Life Fitness Dual adjustable pulley system
  • 1x Life Fitness XL 360 synergy rig
  • 1x Medi Versa climber with gravity seat
  • Ancillary kit, including various exercise bands, balls and bungees.

Catering for your group

When planning your visit to the centre our team will work with you and our catering partner to adapt the menus to your group’s needs and requirements. We can accommodate dietary requirements including any guests who have requirements on the IDDSI framework.
