The centre has benefited from a £14.5m investment and is the first UK residential sports centre of its kind – designed for inclusivity. This allows everyone, including athletes, spectators, and visitors, to be able to train and stay all under one roof. Many disability sports groups have utilised the centre for residential training across a range of sports, including performance squads at elite level.
Previous disability groups to visit the centre include:
- Boccia UK Paralympic residential training camps
- Powerchair Football – Home Nations Championships
- Tennis Table Scotland - Parkinson's Event
- World Wheelchair Curling champs 2025 host - accommodation venue
