Residential trips

At National Centre Inverclyde we have residentials that offer powerful learning opportunities within a sports setting which help young people develop the skills they need to become successful, confident, effective and responsible individuals.

Each programme is tailored to help young people develop different learning objectives which align with the Curriculum for Excellence (CfE). We offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports and activities as part of the residential programme.  Read below for more detail.

Accommodation

National Centre Inverclyde has 60 modern twin bedrooms.  The leader of the group will allocate bedrooms to everyone in advance of the trip and each floor has secure access to keep everyone safe.

All rooms have an ensuite wet room within it.

Eight of our bedrooms have adjoining doors, which will be opened if there is an uneven number of young people in the group.

Six bedrooms contain a hoist, ideal for those who need additional support.

Programme of activities

Each group will have a tailored programme of activities that our team of experienced coaches will develop in advance of the stay.  We will also take any requests from the group in to account when doing this.

Programmes will have a mixture of indoor and outdoor sport included but also a range of wider activities such as bush craft, inclusion sessions and den building.  We are also building an Adventure Sport Hub within our grounds to be able to offer more outdoor activities from a base, such as cycling, hiking, gorge walking and orienteering.

Catering

Young people will have 3 meals per day, with plenty of healthy options to choose from and healthy snacks in the evening before bed. All catering is provided by our high quality catering company who we work closely with to develop a balanced menu that young people will enjoy.

During some of our off site days children will choose the contents of their own packed lunch from a selection of options.
