Scottish Rugby Union
U20s women's rugby residential training camp
Why did you choose the national centre?
Everything we need is on-site, from grass pitches, the indoor 3G, changing spaces, meeting rooms, fantastic new accommodation – it has everything we need to run a quality performance camp. Inverclyde came highly recommended by colleagues and other Scottish Rugby teams who had stayed there before us.
Because of the flexibility Inverclyde affords us – when it comes to bad weather, changing needs, timings, player numbers etc. We know Inverclyde understands this is the nature of performance sport and can adapt to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
There’s no need to have team buses shuttling players to/from training and hotels. As everything’s on site, players benefit from more down-time between sessions.

It was fabulous.
Our players and staff loved Inverclyde. The facilities were excellent, especially the indoor 3G and meeting spaces.
It is an inspiring venue – we trained hard here and made huge strides as a team, both on and off the pitch. The players relaxed and recharged between sessions because they had more time to (time saved travelling between sites) and because the lounge and bedroom spaces allow for it.
The staff were extremely accommodating, efficient, adaptable and catered for our every need; they did this with energy, enthusiasm and a big smile.
It fully met our needs from start to finish and look forward to returning soon.

What was your highlight?
Being warm and dry in the Indoor 3G when it was pouring it down outside. It allowed us to get more work done on the pitch and was particularly appreciated by the support staff (who are used to standing out in the Scottish rain for hours at a time!).
