Fitness code of conduct

sportscotland maintains and enforces a Fitness Code of Conduct to make sure that using our facilities are as safe and enjoyable an experience as we can make it for all of our customers.

We reserve the right to terminate your Membership immediately if you do not abide by these Membership Rules.

Within our fitness areas you agree that you will:

· Watch our fitness induction video prior to attending your first fitness session. (In person inductions are available with a qualified fitness instructor upon request)

· Use your entry band every time you enter the fitness suite.

· Not share your entry band with anyone else.

· Not take bags onto the gym floor.

· Use a locker to store your belongings when you are exercising (padlocks not provided).

· Not leave your belongings in a locker when you are not on the premises

· Wear suitable clothing and footwear when exercising.

· Use the gym facilities and equipment in a proper manner and not in a way that might cause harm to yourself or others (just ask a member of staff if you are unsure).

· Not engage in any exercise activity that may be potentially harmful to you or others.

· Not behave in an aggressive, abusive, intimidating, anti-social or threatening manner or in a way that might cause distress to staff, members or other customers.

· Be considerate towards all staff and cooperate with their instructions.

· Not conduct any personal training business with other members

· Not take photographs or videos on the premises or post remarks or imagery to the internet that could identify another Member.

· Not make or receive phone calls on the gym floor.

· Come and go quietly so as not to disturb other members.

· Not bring fizzy drinks into any fitness areas

· Not eat in any fitness areas

· Use recycling bins provided to dispose of any waste

· Wipe down machines after use using paper towels and sprays supplied at fixed points throughout the facilities. (Hand gel dispensers are also available throughout the site).

· Stay hydrated. We encourage members to carry a water bottle and sweat towel when participating in fitness activity.

· Replace all equipment back to its rightful area after use.

· Not drop or throw weights down on the floor (excluding weights platform areas).

· Not use, block or interfere with fire, emergency or disabled access doors or alarms (except in a genuine emergency).

· Inform an instructor of any faults or damage to equipment or facilities

 

Within the Centre you agree that you will:

· Use parking facilities provided in accordance with the rules of the facility, ensuring vehicles are driven and parked safely within spaces provided

· Not park your bicycle in an unsafe or inappropriate location.

· Not enter our premises whilst intoxicated.

· Not engage in any type of criminal behavior whilst on our premises.

· Not cause damage to the premises, or another Member's property.

· Not misuse the vending machines.

· Not force entry to locked doors.

· Leave the premises before closing time (see our website for opening times).

 

For the health and safety of children:

· Children aged 14 to 17 can only use the fitness suite or attend classes following written consent being provided by a parent or guardian.
